06 - 18.10.2008, 03:45 Hello, I understand your questioning about cannibus. I am a nurse. I don;t use it myself. My question is, have they tried other medications and they aren’t working and that is why you are either using or considering using cannibus? I see others use if for appetite stimulant. How much weight does a person have to lose before a doctor considers the use of cannibus. Have you tried Remeron,it is an antidepressant that also stimulates the appetite. There are also meds specific to stimulating the appetite. . .such as megace. Of course it would depend on your labs and if your body can utilize and excrete the med properly. Sorry to sound like a soap box. However, I do know that Marijuana is linked with lung cancer and has been thought to increase the risks even higher than cigarettes. Also, for me personally, I have so much fatigue as it is, cannibus would surely knock me out for the count under know uncertain terms. I still think sticking with USDA approved meds are the best under any circumstance unless all of the above have failed and a person is in a study program. I would hate to see other complications compiled upon the current situation you are facing. Wishing you the best. Deb |

07 - 01.12.2008, 02:50 USDA? You mean FDA ? I’m not so sure about that. After some drugs that have turned out bad but approved. Heck, I’ve been a serious diet soda drinker and now find out (from a neurologist who’s father works at the FDA) that aspartamine is bad but it’s in everything. They say it turns to formalidihyde in your body. I have just learned to do lots of reserch and not blindly follow what you are told. I have read that marijuana has been tested and has actually had good results for spasms and other symtoms but again do your own reserch and make a educated decision. Resently I have been reserching chinese herbal treatments and it so far sounds like it might be worth a try. |
