Hello, My wife had lost her hearing in her right ear four months ago, has tender spots on her scalp and mild pain behind her eyes. A MRI was taken as meds didn’t work to restore her hearing and the Dr. wanted to rule out a tumur. The MRI did rule out a tumur but found white spots on her brain. Doctor says a spinal tap will help to find out more about what maybe going on. My Wife has her hearing back now for the past week without being on meds for the past two and a half months. I have seen alot on vision loss but not hearing loss. Has anyone had or heard of this coming and going of hearing as being related to MS? I would be very thankful for any info or advise you may have. Thanks again, Troy67.
I have had MS since May 2006 and I have not experienced hearing loss. I generally experience visual disturbances or problems with balance. I have read many books on MS and continually read recent research around MS and I have heard of loosing your hearing due to MS. Though I think it is rare to be first diagnosed with MS due to hearing loss as a sympton. Hope this is of help to you.....
All the best for you and your wife Lauren PS - A good book is George Jenlik ’Taking control of MS’
