Hi Vedrana

My name is Barbara Brink. I had 2 kids and I found that I didn’t have any relapses in my MS during my pregnancies. My kids were normal births and they are bright, and loveable children with no propblems whatsovever. Just remember that MS is not heredity. So I don’t think that you have to worry to have kids. Maybe you’ll have to stop your Beraferon while u are pregnant and resume just after the birth.

I only started on Betaferon after my kids were 22 and 18 years old respectively.

Hope that will answer your question to some extent.

Be strong
Barbara

Dear Barbara, thank you for your answer, it was very helpful. I know that I will have to stop using Betaferon during pregnancy ( I already spoken with my doctor) and I will start using it again after.

No Ice. That comment was really interesting. I would presume that a women had to stop using Beraferon, but never thought that a man had to do it as well. Thanks for the info.

I am pregnant and I am in the process of being diagnosed. I had my first episode in 2003 got pregnant and didn’t have any problems during my pregnancy which I delivered in June 2005. I am pregnant again now and I have had two flare ups now and I am 32 weeks pregnant. I am tired all the time (which comes with pregnancy), but it’s worth it. I am not on meds yet, but I am looking foward to getting some relief. I know that the doctors are doing anything for me as of right now and it doesn’t seem like they will until after I have the baby. All in all it’s not that bad and my boys are great even though I haven’t met this one yet. I think that if you want to have kids then go for it just make sure you take really good care of yourself. I mean I have had two pregnancies one without an flare up and one with two mild flare ups with my vision. Hope this was some help.
