Hi all, my first time to sign up to something like this. Not long with MS, put finding the fatigue hard. Has anyone any suggestions/ideas on how to deal with with, I have myself broken up the walking times and sit down between jobs at home. Many thanks
Hi - I have fatigue too. For the first year after my stroke it was severe. All I wanted was sleep. I tried taking amentdine, but eventually stopped. I was worse before I took the second pill, and when I treid to sleep my heart was racing too much. After I stopped taking it, I forced myself to a more normal routine (not easy after a year of sleeping whenever possible) I still get tired, but it hasn’t been as bad as before. I don’t feel totally on empty everyday. I now force myself to stay awake until 8 pm everynight (such a party girl, lol) If I am extremely tired which still happens at time, I sleep with the alarm set, 1 hour max. Learn to slow your walking stride using smaller steps. Play with it, you can find ways to save energy. I laugh alot, and I had to learn to control that, I actually would get tired from that, go figure LOL. Good luck, and talk with your doctor to see what they would suggest. Your body needs time to recover from attacks, to mend what it can, but you can also get your body adjusted to all the extra sleep and rest, which will make you more tired. Know what I mean??? Good Luck :)

I like everyone find the fatigue the hardest symptom to deal with but I find early nights and a good diet are helping, I try and break big jobs into little bits which is good if I can remember where I was up to lol, With work I try and get some fresh air whenever I can which I find can help, everyone else tends to have the heating on full noise which doesnt help the hotter I get the more tired I get.
Fatigue is a problem for me too. I do find that rest periods when possible, and eating light meals several times a day do help. Also, keeping a cool cloth around when I get over heated helps tremendously, and drink plenty of water. Staying well hydrated is a big help with the fatigue.
