Hi everyone,

I’ve been taking Betaseron for the past 2 years, but I am really excited about the new treatments which will be available starting from next year!

I am thinking about switching to an oral but I’m afraid of the new side-effects (cancer, etc.)

What would you guys do?

i’ve been reading some news (there have been a lot lately, as the ECTRIMS [European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis] annual congress has just taken place.

There are 5 new oral treatments coming out in the next 4 years.
- cladribine
- fingolimod
- BG-12
- laquinimod
- teriflunomide

If we’re lucky (in Europe) we may be getting cladribine by end of next year and fingolimod shortly after.

I can’t wait to replace my oversized autoinjector and bag with a small pill bottle!

But there are big safety issues around the new drugs and I’m not sure my neurologist will be comfortable prescribing a drug which I propose...

I was join the reasearch by Sanovi Aventis in Berlin. as my Prof Doctor suggest me as I dont have health insurance to cover all the bills and treatment.. so i have to sign to not get pregnant and not go afar from Germany Berlin.

after 2 months, something happened as Teriflunomide is suppresing the leucozit suddenly it is dropped to 2.1 and the prof dr also scared that it is not good for me as i got hairfall a lot like I was being chemo. then after that he scheduled the pills to be eaten 5 times a week and it works well. but every test it happened it was all progress good that time.. concentration in math ..ha ha.. then walking fast timed.

i can walk well using subway underground, bus, from my house to the clinic of him

I have been in a trial in the US - BG-12. So far it is helping me. I have noticed that due to a reduction in the number of brain lesions present, I have not had as many relapses. Also the few relapses that I did have were very mild. I hope that this drug will help many others if it is approved.
