My Neurologist has found from my MRI scan that I have a calcified bulging disc which is pressing on my spinal column. I am having immediate surgery to remove the disc. The Neuro-surgeon say’s I am a walking time bomb and the surgery is necessary and urgent. He also told me that this type of thing is not uncommon in patients with MS. Also, I have many legions on my brain which are not in the most common places for MS, however I have been checked out for all other diseases and all tests were negative. I have tested positive for demylination behind my eyes and have had several episodes of optic neuritis. After surgery my Neurologist will re-visit my MS symptoms again. Has anyone else heard of an MS patient having to have spinal surgery ?
