It has taken me long enough to pluck up the courage to ask if anyone knows how I feel or how to solve it!
I have eaten pretty well, really balanced and maitained a good weight for a long time. After starting betaferon a few months ago, I started being even more strict with my diet, ensuring I always ate correctly and very balanced. THis assisted me in loosing a little weight for the first say 2 to 3 months. The stricter my balanced diet has become, I would expect me to loose a little more weight, more regularly, especially because I keep active with my little but regular exercise, but no! I have put on all that I had lost!!! It is SO frustating. My Dr. and nurses etc, all have said none of their pariets have ever been thin. Do I really HAVE to just accept this?
You DON’T have to accept what your doctors/nurses think is the "norm", particularly if it impacts on your psychological well-being!
Have you read the work of Dr Peter d’Adamo or followed his researched recommendations for the Blood Type Diet? Sometimes a perfect diet doesn’t necessarily agree with YOU specifically.
You may already do this, but eating smaller, high-protein meals more frequently (e.g. 5 small meals per day) often helps boost one’s metabolism and promotes weight loss. But maintaining even gentle activity is key.
I forgot to ask ... has your Thyroid been checked??
A few months before my initial MS episode, having always maintained an almost perfect nutritional plan and very active lifestyle, I gained EIGHT kg’s without any explanation!!
Turned out mostly that I was suffering from Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis (hypothyroid).
Thanks for the advice! I have checked my thyroid many times over my childhood/teens and early adulthood...
I am so close to giving up on my weight issue. I feel like is u cant beat-it-join it... if I I just cant have wat I want, I just want to loose all hope now! Might as well give in and just be as I am.
